Kaldurg Fort Trek, near Boisar

Kaldurg Fort is a classic Sahyadri hill fortress situated atop the Waghoba Khind ghat. Because of its rectangular rock formation at the summit, the fort served as an impenetrable observation tower for Maratha armies to monitor troop movements between the Arabian coast and inland trade passes. The trek starts near the revered Waghoba Temple and winds through dense deciduous forest, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours. At the pinnacle, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Boisar-Palghar industrial coastline, meandering Surya River, and lush mountain ranges.
